Savouring a Swiss Autumn

The Swiss autumn sun shone brightly as we walked in the forest above Givrins in the Canton de Vaud.   We discovered two very scruffy, very old, insect eaten Girolles mushrooms and hoped for some healthy fresh ones to take home but unfortunately that was not to be.  There were plenty of non-comestible varieties as we scoured the pine forest floor.  We came across some beautiful ‘puff-balls’ that we tapped with sticks to see the spores fly.     After scouring the forest floor for an hour we decided to call it quits. We then followed the mossy clothed rocks of the stream back down cutting through the forest back to where the car was parked.  It was a beautiful hour spent in the fresh air of the Swiss countryside.   It

was time to head home to Genolier and a well deserved glass of local white Swiss Wine.
